JOZI MY JOZI PARTNERED WITH JOBURG CHILD WELFARE FOR 'DONATE A GIFT' INITIATIVE

Jozi My Jozi partnered with Joburg Child Welfare (JCW) to bring joy and hope to children in the inner city. Through our 'Donate A Gift' initiative, we aimed to make the holidays brighter for kids who need it most. Thanks to the incredible support of our donors, sponsors, and volunteers, we achieved something truly magical.

About Joburg Child Welfare

Joburg Child Welfare, one of South Africa’s oldest non-profit organisations, has been a beacon of hope for vulnerable children for over a century. Through programs like “Chance to Play,” located at the historic Drill Hall, JCW offers after-school activities for children living and studying in the CBD. This initiative not only provides a safe space but also fosters creativity and play, essential for a child’s development.

The Impact of 'Donate A Gift'

This year’s 'Donate A Gift' initiative was nothing short of a triumph. Here’s a snapshot of what we accomplished together:

  • Monetary Donations: We raised an astounding R43,150, thanks to contributions from iqbusiness and individual donors.

  • Shoes Donations: Tennant Metals generously donated over R40,300 worth of shoes, ensuring that children received footwear to match their new outfits and have soccer boots for playing soccer.

  • Food and Drinks: Nando’s stepped in with over 134 meals and drinks, making the celebration truly festive.

  • Gifts: A total of 15 direct gifts were sponsored by kind-hearted individuals.

  • Volunteers: On Sunday, 8 December 2024, 14 dedicated volunteers showed up to help make the day seamless and joyful.

A Day to Remember

The celebration was held at the beautiful Indwe Park, made available by Liberty. Volunteers worked tirelessly to sort clothes, wrap gifts, and create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for the children. It was a day filled with smiles, laughter, and the true spirit of giving.

Our Heartfelt Gratitude

We extend our deepest thanks to:

  • Tennant Metals, iqbusiness, and individual donors for their generous contributions.

  • Nando’s and Liberty for their invaluable support in providing meals and the venue.

  • Our amazing volunteers who gave their time and energy to ensure every detail was perfect, leading to the success of the event.
