National Children’s Theatre is South Africa’s premier children’s theatre, inspiring the hearts, minds and skills of thousands of young learners and families since 1980. Its purpose is to nurture SA’s future leaders by involving them in the magic of live theatre, cultural educational programs and the power of storytelling.

NCT nurtures young imaginations, playing a vital role in enriching children’s lives across Johannesburg, building capacities for collaborative problem-solving, creative thinking, and public presentation. NCT’s work is consistently recognized: Fantastic Mr. Fox won the Naledi Award for best children’s production in 2022, as did Innocence Lost in 2023, and The Hobbit in 2024.
